I found the gap in the load cover makes sense when the cargo barrier is used as well. The gap means I can use the load cover without removing the cargo barrier. I like to use the cargo barrier because I can load up the back and not worry about stuff falling onto the kids in the back, especially if we are stopped suddenly.

That makes sense.
Would you mind sharing a picture of your barrier? I assume this is different from the dog guard?

 

Can the cargo barrier be used on a 7 seater and is it a Skoda one or generic?

I must be another 'picky one' as I've noticed the gap between seat and load cover and am also a bit disappointed that the rear tints are not as dark for privacy glass as I would have expected, but can't have everything!!

 

I will get a picture of the barrier soon. I have the Skoda original barrier. The barrier, like the load cover, cannot be used when the 7 seats are used but it can be stored under the boot floor with the load cover. You can also move the barrier to the front if all the back seats are down. Unfortunately because the clips in the head lining are fitted in the factory it need to be ordered with the car.

The amount of gap also depends on how far the seats have been tilted back

 

That is Skoda being cheap. The load cover on my current Honda has an extra extending strip of material that pulls forward from the metal bar, and clips on to the 2nd row headrests. So no matter what position the rear seats are in, the load cover always fully covers the load.

 

My Toyota Prius+ had a similar arrangement with extra fabric to cover the part between load cover and rear seat, with clips for the rear headrest mountings....must be a Japanese thing!

Shame the mounting points for the Netting aren't in every Kodiaq, and must be specified at delivery - seems strange, as that stops you adding accessories afterwards.

If you want cheap you should see Honda's attempt at a load cover. It's one of those fold up window shades.

Ys but when they are reclined, it's not a comfortble rear seat position, so therefore in a 'normal' comfortable position, a rather large gap is left between seats and load cover.
