Did anyone try the App-based control function with the XLR?
I'm assuming that for some reason that's not available in the UK / Europe as I didn't see any option for it whilst purchasing / installing. But I agree......totally unnecessary.

Hi guys,

I am willing to buy a XLR chip.
My questions is, is the chip working on all cars, or it has to be reprogrammed if you want to fit in different car?

Thanks.

You have to choose the correct chip for the car. As far as recalibrating for a different car.... I would not know. You should ask RACECHIP.
Their reply would, I am sure, be of interest to others if you would be kind enough to publish it here.
Thanks.

I have the App based control on mine and it works fine.

I also can't see the point of the app? Can you enlighten us.
I twiddle the control knob and do so, so rarely that it matters not.

I simply have the app through personal preference. It’s easier in my view than having an unsightly dual fitted on the dash somewhere or more convenient than having to reach into a cubby and retrieve it to adjust and then see which mode it’s turned round to.

The visual display makes it clear which mode is selected and for me, that convenience outweighs the the dial option.

I shouldn't really chime in, seeing as I declined on the XLR for reasons stated here.

But I will say this; charging extra for the app is pure corporate greed. It should be included for free.
I have many gadgets around the house, each with their own app or website. None of them charge for that convenience.

I have stuck my control knob just to the right of the steering column on the (in my case beige plastic just below the black). I so rarely change the settings that I forget it is there as it out of line of sight. Since it only goes to the dealer once a year it takes but 1 second to switch it to 'N'.
