After Market Running Boards

Post by rtipple01 » Thu Nov 28, 2019 9:51 pm

Hi all,

New to the forum and have found it very useful in helping me get to a point where I'm reay to push the button on an order dir a new vRS with a few goodies.

But before I do I wanted to hear about people's experience with the side running boards.

- are the skoda ones good / robust?
- anyone negotiate a good price with their dealer to get them done?
- anyone bought and fitted any third party running boards?

Appreciate your comments, thanks house

Yes, bolted to the car so it is not easy at all to remove them. Skoda says that it's load capacity is: Locally (at any given point) - 150 kg
Total (across entire surface) - 300 kg.

Here, in Serbia, I paid around €900, That includes both Skoda OEM sideboards and installation.

I did look around actually, but went for the OEMs in the end for two reasons. I could not find any sideboards that looked as half as good as OEMs and I would have serious problem with the registration with anything that is not factory approved.

Here are a few pictures of the car with the sideboards fitted:
