You sound like you should be applying to Skoda as a car designer so you can tell them why you think they’re getting it wrong.

Where the spare wheel is stored is also a trade off. Outside the car and it’s vulnerable to theft. Inside the car and it’s harder to get to.

A car wheel is far from the dirtiest thing that goes in my car’s boot. *stares meaningfully at dog*
It's not limited to Skoda, my wife's spare goes in the boot under the floor too as do lots of cars. Her wheel is also full size. It must be possible to secure external spare wheels, surely it is possible to have a locking mechanism that is acceptably secure, perhaps requiring access to the boot to release.

Just the other day a friend of one of my children was staring into my car for ages as it was parked at their school. When I asked later what they had found so interesting I was told "they couldn't get over how clean it was inside". I laughed but as their car is only about a year old I can only wonder what happens in their car! Long may my car remain squeaky clean.

As regards car design, Skoda did ask me to fill in a questionnaire and I did set them right on a few issues.
SE (5 seats) 1.5 4x4 DSG, factory tow bar, drive mode selection, reversing camera, rough road package, folding door mirrors, 215/65R17 spare wheel.

I look forward to seeing Skoda's new model line up incorporating your design ideas. What should I be looking out for? :ugeek:

Are you sure they weren’t looking for the service manual, so they could count the stamps?

Is that all? I expected major improvements, but that's a backward step.

Yes but weight is not everything, some of us want our cars to have the top coat.
