SMMT chief executive Mike Hawes said: "With the industry given barely a year to reapprove the entire European model line-up, it's no surprise that we've seen bottlenecks and a squeeze on supply.
Seems that lots of manufacturers face the same problem?

Ordered a kodiaq TDI 4x4 Sportline on September 1st 2018. No build date just yet but I spoke with Skoda customer service the other day and they said that it’s unlikely to have a build date until December 2018. Then 12- 14 weeks after this. Looks like i’ll Be getting it for new plate in March 19.

Does anyone know if this means I will get this new digital instrument panel? I haven’t ordered it as an extra as it wasn’t available but would it come as standard if I get the car in March 2019? I hope so, because it looks much nicer.

It's an extra. 19 plate changes are very small and won't include that

I received the attached MY19 changes doc from my dealer. Unfortunately the digital dash will only be available as an option.

Perhaps if your car is delayed to MY20 .......................

The whole situation is rather farcical. I asked my dealer for an update this morning on my 2l petrol order. This was the initial response:

“At the moment, there are still several delays in the factory due to the emissions testing and unfortunately it is the bigger models in the range that seem to be affected the most. The latest news that I have from Skoda is that your particular engine type is delayed by around eight weeks which by my calculation means that your vehicle is unlikely to be in the UK prior to Christmas.”

After a “to the point” response back from me, I then received the following:

“I have just spoken to Dealer Support to ask about your vehicle as I understand that we have time constraints with regards to your vehicle going back. They have confirmed that your vehicle has a chassis number, which means it is built, and is waiting WLTP testing. However, they have also advised that they believe the car will be with us no later than the week commencing 26th November as things currently stand. This is an improvement on the end of the year which is the information on the Dealer Support Website.”

I hope that the second response is the reality.
Update from live chat just now:

I checked your order and found that your vehicle is in it's final stage of production. Tomorrow is the last day of production for your vehicle, after this the delivery time will be 6-8 weeks.

I thought it was already built...

Just been on live chat my car is in a field somewhere in eastern Europe awaiting release after testing . It's a 2ltr diesel 180 Edition sunroof heated windscreen etc....my finger is hovering over the cancel button. Surely if we decide to wait another 6 weeks (minimum) we should be entitled to some compo. It's not as if other manufacturers haven't been able to pass WTP....

See my signature for details. Ordered early August from Dennis Horton in Lincoln and quoted 22 weeks lead time. Just been told it will be built in the first week of December and should arrive at the dealers in early January.

Well Skoda says the car is built the dealer says otherwise its status 20. They wont let me cancel or I should say they wont give me my deposit back. How long am I reasonably expected to wait ? And what is the time scale from status 20 to delivery ? Thanks in anticipation.

Hi all,

First post on here. I ordered a Kodiaq SE L on Aug 10th and just had a call today stating that my build date has been confirmed for week 46 (w/c 12.11.18) and that i should expect delivery by end of Nov/Beg Dec. Does this seem realistic based on other peoples experiences so far?
