Oil Consumption on SEL 2.0 TDI ?

Reg new on 31/05/17 Miles at first oil service 8,555
I had it done early as we towed the caravan to Switzerland which it did without braking a sweat.

Topped up again myself mid summer at 1/2 dip stick

miles now ? Cant find it, but maybe 14,000 , (The mileage total has vanished, anyone know where?)

Frequent requests for oil service message and it now requires top up again from bottom of dip stick.

I had a word with Hughes who assured me this level of oil use was quite normal. "modern diesels use more oil"

Seems odd, oil burning can' t do much for the pollution level.

My old S Max with Euro5 2 lt. diesel never needed any oil between service .

Pretty standard behaviour with VAG vehicles.

And when lights dazzle it’s fine for the visit to the optician. Or in my case wear my glasses. The difference with or without is amazing especially for car lights on the road this time a year.
