Updated Skoda Connect app?

Post by caines » Wed Apr 17, 2019 8:35 am

Hi all,

I've had numerous emails about the update and today updated my app.
The emails say you can lock/unlock car remotely and turn on heating remotely....but I cant see how to do this.
Am I missing something?

Many thanks

For the unlocking, you have to have a post Dec 18 build car & have your connect account verified by your dealer.

However, as the components are all there I'll wait till someone has managed to retrofit to a 17/18 model and have a play. (Fully) Remote Locking might make the Connect subscription more appealing to some (I find it useful even without, but that will veer the thread off topic quickly!)

Same issue, also it seems the honk and flash has disappeared. I really wanted the remote locking, and the aux heating feature, and I was promised these features when I bought (yes, in August 2017!!) only to find them unavailable. So even with this cool trendy "more intuitive" app, I still miss out.

So much for the promised new features it just does exactly the same as the old app albeit less intuitively.
The honk and flash is still there but you have to scroll down to the bottom of the parking position page, where before it was all on the one page. :(
Make sure to leave comments on the app ratings and review page, there are a few negative reviews so far, maybe the app developers will act on them.

This option is still there; I use Skoda Connect App on my iPhone, Honk & Flash is under "Parkin position", then just expand "up" the tab at the bottom of the window, two options for me:
Homk & Flash and Flash

Hope it works for you too !

Ah! Found it! So much for their "intuitive" nonsense, though!

This app is an example of change for the sake of change. No new functionality just less intuitive menus. Wonder how many millions they wasted on that. They should focus instead on the very poor customer service received on issues such as - chrome trim pitting, door protector thingys, squeaky door handles etc. where there aim is to avoid taking responsibility.

If there is function to update to enable remote locking / unlocking for older models then I would actually subscribe again

Is the remote locking/unlocking secure - do you still need the key to drive away ?

Hi
I have been asked to renew my subscription.... what happens if I don't?
does the app just stop working completely?

Whilst the functionality is interesting I don't think it is worth paying for with the current level of options.
remote heating and defrosting maybe a different matter but it appears that doesn't work anyway.

any thoughts welcome
