Are you accidentally pressing the small recessed rectangle on the handle at the same time as trying to unlock? Try not grasping the handle but slip fingers of your flattened palm between handle and door, so is that helps?
Like Mr Nice aid.
When locking keep your fingers AWAY from inside the door handle. When opening keep your thumb AWAY from the little raised rectangle. Otherwise the door gets very cfused as it doesn't know if you want it locked or unlocked.
Don't be embarrassed, it's happened to loads of us, me included, when we first get the car.
Thank you gentlemen. Until the Kodiaq I had been driving a 1996 Merc E for 11 years. Those were the days when the steering wheel was used only for turning corners.
