Post by nu2skoda » Thu Jun 15, 2017 5:11 pm

Not really about Kodiaq's but we have ordered recently and aren't expecting delivery till end Aug. Anyone had experience with long term car hire. looking for a low cost option on focus sized vehicle.

Or maybe you could pick up a £5-600 used car with 12 months mot for the duration. It may work out cheaper, and you can sell it for little to no loss afterwards ?

We have something like Uber here in Oz where the owners of a car will advertise through the website to offer their car for rental long or short term. The advantage being you get better rental rates and the cars are almost new. I would be surprised if we in Oz thought of this first.

I have been driving a hire car for the last few months. For a rental period over 30 days you can normally negotiate a very good price, possibly as low as £8 per day. i got a Seat Leon Automatic from enterprise for £13 / day.

Car arrived at UK Port. Finance docs to be completed then hopefully take delivery promptly.

Thanks for suggestions. Yes a few budget options have changed me to light. Wish I'd considered factoring it in to my car purchase negotiations.. some folk seem to have had a courtesy car from some dealers.
