NO MORE 5 SEAT EDITION

Post by LordJellybelly » Tue Feb 19, 2019 12:49 pm

Another site says 5 seat Edition is being discontinued.

From Skoda UK Customer Services:

"Thank you for your recent email to ŠKODA UK. Unfortunately, the ŠKODA KODIAQ SE L and Edition 5 seats are no longer available.

The vehicles listed below have been removed from production as of 03 January 2019:

OCTAVIA Scout
OCTAVIA L&K
KODIAQ SE Technology (five and seven seater)
KODIAQ SE L (five seater)
KODIAQ Edition (five seater)

The reason for this, is that we do not anticipate that there would be sufficient orders of this specification for the UK market. I am sincerely sorry for any disappointment that this may cause and understand why you would be interested in this product.

It is no longer available to order as a new factory order, the only availability we have at the moment is stock vehicles.

I would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused by this, I understand how important it was selecting the perfect vehicle for yourself."

Back to the beginning.

I have an SE as when I ordered you could only have 5 seats if you went for S or SE spec. SE L and Edition were 7 seat only.

This then changed but demand has obviously been too low to make it worth while to Skoda UK.

I love my 5 seat Edition but I guess market forces are more important
Ordered in September 2018; collected 18th December. 1.5TSi ACT DSG Edition in Black Magic (the one true colour!) with Virtual Pedal. What a beast!! Why did I waste 20 years of hard earned cash on Audis?

Well that’s me looking elsewhere next time then, I chose a 5 seat firstly because I don’t need 7 seats and more importantly I needed 100kg tow ball capacity for towing. The 7 seat only has 80kg which is not quite enough for me. Kodiaq was towcar of the year with CAMC last year, they will loose sales to caravaners. A mistake in my opinion.
Ordered 8th August, collected 2nd October. SEL 2.0 TDI 190 4x4 DSG. Quartz Grey with Beige Upholstery, Factory Towbar, Reversing Camera, Front Parking Sensors. :D

Yep, same as StevieG said above. An 80 kg nose weight on a vehicle like the Kodiaq is derisory and I certainly don't need 7 seats either.

Same here, we specifically bought a 5 seater version for towing a touring caravan and it is very good at it imho.

Very good point, wonder if Skoda have even considered that?

Those of us he specifically purchased a 5 seater Kodiaq for towing are now faced with the choice of keeping it longer than we maybe planned or having to now go elsewhere. From memory due to weights etc the 7 seater isn't a viable option for us to even consider.
