My19 2.0 tsi user experiences?

Post by SkodiaqDK » Thu Feb 07, 2019 5:24 pm

Hello

I am probably not the only one who have received the 2.0 tsi 140kw my19.

Mine is 1 week old today. I have not been driving alot since pickup, but I am a bit dissapointed about the feel at low speed. Not so smooth gear changes (and many of them) and slow speeder reaction. Sometimes jumpy. I am wondering if the car automatically goes to extreme eco-mode at speeds below maybe 60 km/h.

Does anyone have similar experiences?

Only available as a dsg as far as I know.

Lots of reviews had previously said the 2.0 tsi (Not the 190ps version tbough) is a dog unless the gearbox is in sport mode as the gearbox is far too lazy to respond.

Have u tried changing gearbox settings at all?

Yes. Sport = way too many rpms when driving slow.

Kodiaq 180ps has a different gearbox.

Yup dq500 vs 381 but suspect gearbox mapping is similar between the two. Have the same problem with my 340i , in standard (comfort) mode the gearbox can't be bothered to respond anytime quickly to throttle applications however sport mode makes it far better to drive but does hang on to lower gears which can be a little much around town at low speeds but better than the alternative from a driveability perspective.

Should have the Kodiaq in the next week or so to replace my wife's car so will have a play then.

Did you have a testdrive in 2.0 tsi 180ps?

I did not order drivemode select. Maybe that was a mistake.

My testdrive for the 2.0 tsi 180ps was 10 or 11 month ago. I remember it as more comfortable.

... Or maybe my expectations are too high after waiting 9 months.

Certainly not my experience of the 2.0 180 with the DQ500 box, I very rarely feel the need to use sport mode.

Had a brief go of a 180 2.0tsi but main drive was in a 1.4tsi dsg. Have driven a few dsg equipped cars though and always found them a bit jerky around town compared to a BMW DCT dual clutch gearbox or normal automatic but they always drove well the rest of the time.

Isn't drive mode select standard on SEL and above? I know it is in the UK.

I have seen the sign "eco" in the display when i release the gas pedal.

This is the user manual definition:

Eco illuminates - the vehicle is in economy mode due to the intervention of the
active cylinder management or due to the neutral position of the automatic gearbox.

Does anyone with a 180ps get eco in the display?
