List of checks when picking up new Kodiaq

Post by TCC » Sun Feb 03, 2019 2:17 pm

Hi all,
Not sure if there is a thread already created on this, I’m looking to create a list of things to check when I pick up my Kodiaq next week. Some of the things maybe common sense but in the rush/excitement of picking up a new car I’m sure it’s easy to forget to check this or that.

What made me think of this thread idea was reading on hear about the dealer giving you the SD card for sat nav (someone did not get theirs and it’s not something I would have known to expect to receive) and reading up on the common know faults - think it’s worth checking each of these faults against the car before driving away.

So my list stands as below (I will keep this post up to date with everyone else’s ideas):

SD card for sat nav is supplied with CD sized case
Speakers are all working - do a sound test
Metal filings on the bumpers - visual check for any sign of paint defects
Door protectors all work - check each door
Wheels - check for damage
Body work - check for damage
Chrome bright work - check for marks
Door cards/handle gaps/creeks- check each door
Check seats have protection applied (if you ordered this extra) - water test
Check paint have protection applied (if you ordered this extra) - water test
V5 has towing capacity on it/colour/regVIN/etc are correct
All options are fitted - make own list for options specified
All accessories are present - make own list for options specified
Columbus does not have an SD card for maps.
Check tyre pressures, dealers are prone to leaving the tyres at the higher transport pressures - reset in your own time.
The dealer should take time to setup your Skoda Connect for you - check this.
Don’t recall anyone reporting them left in on a Kodiaq but a few Superb owners have, so wise to check the transport blocks have been removed from the shocks.
