wifi

Post by davidb » Thu Nov 08, 2018 6:44 pm

I have a data only sim card in the slot in the glove box. Last week skoda connect subscription ran out, and l lost the wifi ability in the car. Once I resubscribed the wifi came back and the kids in the back were happy again.

Didnt make the link that this facility was part of the skoda connect package

I think you'll find it isn't.

I have a data sim for wifi, my Skoda Connect expired in September and I've not renewed the subscriptions. I still have the WiFi function... just can't use the Skoda Connect functions, portal & app. No great loss .. think the subscriptions are extortionate !

I agree, the price of the subscription doesn’t offer any value. I didn’t renew ours last July and I haven’t missed it.
It's a 'Kodiaq' and not a 'Bear' unless you are 5 years old.

Hmm that is interesting, but for me l clearly lost the wi-fi in fact the car did not recognise that the sim card was in the slot. Re-establishing the skoda connect sorted it all out

Just so you're aware they dropped the prices by 50% in September...

I'm not surprised! The prices were a complete rip off. I have no need of it and would not pay any money to re-join.
Interestingly the Karoq sat nav warned me of a temporary road closure the other day and I wasn't aware that there is any connectivity, as there are no emergency call buttons on the SE L.

Could have been via TMC, the traffic system that works in the background via FM (as far as I understand it)

Was that a short term offer ? Still showing on the portal at £81 for both subscriptions.

That is the reduced price isn't it? Originally it was in the region of £60+ for the Infotainment and £50+ for the Remote Access.

I think the reduced prices were £40-something and £30-something which would tally with your £81
