Re: Alloys
That looks horrific, its certainly something I have never seen mentioned anywhere else on the forum though, so maybe you are just a one-off manufacturing defect or something?
Out of interest, do you live/drive anywhere out of the norm e.g. farm, off-road, seafront etc.

Re: Alloys
Is that not the brake disc? The alloy wheel looks fine? If it is the brake disc, this is normal.
Re: Alloys
Do you use alloy wheel cleaner or use a power washer?

Alan Chapple: I live in town, so no off-road or seafront driving.
danbri12: No, it isn't the brake disc.
Kenny R: Normally jet-washed.
It is due a service soon, so will speak to dealer.

Thought so, you’ve just speeded up what will inevitably happen, that the brake disc bell goes rusty. Happens to all cars, just some quicker than others, and blasting with a jet wash doesn’t help.

Re: Alloys
Just to confirm. Are you talking about the rusty brown bit? That isn't the wheel but as said already part of the brake disc, and unfortunately this does happen.

Re: Alloys
Easy job...metal brush....bottle of hammerite and problem is solved...5 months and mine look almost the same. Used a Iron X for cleaning wheels and this stuff ate this color and ate color from front brake calipper...good product but poor color on calippers

Re: Alloys
I've just been to look at mine.
Your pic is of a rear wheel with Triglav. Yes?
If you look at the front wheel the piece inboard of the wheel, behind the seam is different.
I think that the messy bit on yours is on the hub.
The first thinG i thought of was that you live in Devon with the red soil.
In my pic below......
The part shown by the line is the hub.
The part by the arrow is the join between the hub and the wheel.
I always go to an IMO car wash & don't use jet washers, so I cannot comment on how this might have happened.
