Extra button in Kodiaq's board

Post by ellinas » Sat Apr 06, 2019 3:58 am

Hello,

I own a Scoda Kodiaq (late 2018)
I am searching for a clever/elegant way to put an extra button in my car.

I want to install the garage/parking door opener in Skoda's board, without damage or breaking it.

Do you have any idea, please?

Thanks in advance,
Angelos

If the button has a smooth, flat back you could stick it low down on the dashboard just above the cubby hole lid. I put my throttle control button there

Throttle control button? Isn't that just a throttle? 🤔

No. XLR throttle modifier. (racechip.co.uk)
Is a plug in 'brain' such you can set to 6 or 7 different responses. Cancelling out the appalling throttle lag on the 1.4 Kodiaq engine.
Choose 'RACE' mode and the off the line acceleration is phenomenal.

Ah! I'm afraid I'm too old and steady for such new fangled equipment. Comfort and safety are what I want from a car these days, and the acceleration of the 1.4 engine is quite sufficient for my needs. Never noticed any throttle lag, but then I never want to race off the line like Lewis Hamilton.

Neither did I. But lots of peeps found the throttle lag unacceptable if not downright dagereous in some circumstances and bought an XLR or or similar.
I think most complainants had DSG, so it may not have affected 'wiggly stick' boxes.

Not really any options I’m afraid. You probably could swap the rear view mirror for an American Golf one with Homelink, but I think your garage has to be Homelink compatible:

Definitely hasn’t been tried and tested on the Kodiaq.
