Hello everyone,
sorry to use this topic, but couldn't find a button to open new topic :(
Here's my query...
more I wait, more config changes I do..playing with online configurator almost on a daily basis
I'd like to understand difference from Columbus and Amundsen, apart from HW differences.
What I need to understand is functionality differences when in use by Columbus with it's own SIM card or Amundsen with my LTE sharing over my cell phone...
If functionality via cell phone is the same, then makes no sense to pay more than 1k EUR just for SIM slot, HDD, slightly bigger LCD and DVD player ?
I am not intended to play movies in the car anyway...
Any hint will help if I should change my order from Amundsen to Columbus :geek:
Thanks !

No, Amudsen should be fine.

9.2" display is great but 8" is still larger than what the competition offers.

DVD/CD is a history. Playing from USB or from smartphone is is the future :) Both navis can do that,

Using HDD or SD for maps doesn't make any difference although HDD should be faster.

I rarely use Google Earth and I could easily live w/o it. I can't use Street View.

Even Amudsen can play DIVX&/MP4 movies from SD card.

Online updating... well... I want to see it working... this month new maps should arrive... I will see how it works... if it really does. Updating via SD card would be a big failure for me regarding spending 1K more for 'better' navi.

Using data transfer with external SIM is great because if my wife is using my car (using her phone), everything works w/o any pairing/setting up.

Romanv,

hvala / thanks !
This convienced me I should stay with Amundsen !
I was really wondering if there are other advantages of Columbus. Better then to spend 1k for a decent holiday with my bear once it arrives !
