What are the advantages of using a SIM card in the car?
What can you do with the SIM card that you can’t do with your phone?

If Kodiaq is used by more than 1 driver, you don’t need to pair the infotainment system with the current driver’s phone after each switch.

just received the '3' sim as recommended earlier in the post. Popped it in and after telling it i only want to use it for data it worked correctly and easily. Well happy now to get rid of the annoying red globe at the top of the screen and it all works 100% and even 4G too :) Also tried the flash and honk function and was very happy to see it all working too. (tho doubt ill ever need it in the real world lol)
Aero, I’ve bought the 3 sim , I’ll pop it in the external drive, then what should I do to get it activated? Any help from any members gratefully appreciated.

Ignition on - Infotainment On, wait a few seconds for everything to fire up.
Go into Skoda Connect from menu screen.
Settings >> WLAN >> Mobile Hotspot >>> Mobile Hotspot (WLAN) Settings .. should then show up the password.

Hi all,

The red globe in my display has been an itch I've needed to scratch all week. I know most on here have recommended the 12Gb three sim from my memory but I found this on amazon:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Three-Trio-Pre ... B01M3VJ2B2

24Gb for 2 years but @ £40 its a bit cheaper than the 1 year card.

Bought the 12gb 3 sim and loaded when the car was new in September. All has been working seamlessly with wife and my phones picking up the car's wifi hotspot when we're out and about. Just six months later the sim has stopped connecting and it seems we've used the full 12gb allowance.
This seems odd as I don't do much downloading other than emails, WhatsApps etc. Previously when using my phones data allowance in the car I was only using about 100mb a month. Has the infotainment system drained all this data ? Anyone else on the 3 sim had a similar experience?
