ACC question

Post by J-R » Tue Feb 05, 2019 12:59 pm

Hi all,

Question about using the Adaptive Cruise Control:

When the Kodiaq stops because the car in front of me stops, it does not resume driving automatically when the car in front me moves forward (I have to pull the ACC lever to Resume in order to get going again). I understood from the manual that when the car in front of me drives off, the Kodiaq should resume driving automatically.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
JR

Did you touch the brake pedal? That deactivates the ACC

I haven’t got ACC but the manual implies that if your stopped for a while you have to set resume to continue.
From the manual.....
“If the vehicle in front starts moving again after a long break, press the acceler- ator pedal or set the lever to position  in order to continue control
» page 244.”

When your car stops does the auto handbrake engage? If so that cuts out ACC

Thanks for the tips, I will try pay attention to these points and see what happens.

Too bad the manual isn't more specific about how many seconds/minutes "a long break" is!

If the car in front moves within 3/4 seconds of yours coming to a halt, your ACC should automatically restart and move your car forward, but if it's stationary for longer than that, you have to flick the ACC stalk to resume your journey.

Exactly that! You can also give the accelerator a gentle tap, and that also tells the ACC to pull away again.
