A picture is worth a thousand words, so let's start with some:

Car ordered at the end of December 2016, delivered at the end of May 2017, picked up in early June 2017. I have not experienced any problems that I had the opportunity to read on this forum. Waiting time just as expected. The dealer was very sincere in this matter; he said that based on the experience of the previous highly anticipated Skoda models, e.g. Yeti and Superb, the estimated delivery time would be about 6 months, so I should get it before the summer holidays and so it happened. So I waited [un]patiently...

While waiting, I had plenty of time to read the entire instruction manual, watch all possible tests and reviews and gather all the necessary car cosmetics to appease my OCD [Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder], should the time come.

Image

When the day came, I quickly picked up the car, drove home, and got into a 3-day car detailing frenzy of washing [Meguiar's NXT Generation Car Wash], drying [Monster Shine Fluffy Dryer], decontamination [CarPro IronX], degreasing [CarPro Eraser], taping [Aqua Dynamic Masking Tape], waxing [Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax] and applying various coatings: on glass [Soft99 Ultra Glaco], on alu rims [CarPro Cquartz DLUX], on plastic trim [Koch Nano Magic Plast Care].

The outcome is truly rewarding. The car not only looks stunning but is so much easier to wash now. The dust, bugs, road grime, bird's poop and brake pad dust do not stick so much to the treated surface and power wash removes most of it in a single splash. Hydrophobic coating on windshield makes the use of wipers redundant while driving, helps to prevent water spots and makes deicing easier in winter time.

Very nice pictures! The business gray seems to change color depending on the surroundings. Enjoy the bear :)

Hi Bertbike.....you live, or have driven to a simply gorgeous area, fabulous pics. Please may I ask you about Meguiars products? I have only used Autoglym since owning my second car, Escort Mk 2,(furry dice and furry seat covers, Ian + Alison on sunblind, how classy was I?). Would you classify Meguiars as being above Autoglym products simply on quality?

Hi BoyQpr....

I would say both Meguiar's and Autoglym are quality products and you can't go wrong with either of them. I chose Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax because it's very easy to use [you can wax the whole car and then polish it] and it doesn't leave white residue on the plastic trim as some waxes I used before. Speaking of plastic trim, I highly recommend Koch Nano Magic Plast Care; also quick and simple to apply with great result and protection. But my favorite product is Soft99 Ultra Glaco - the hydrophobic glass coating that renders wipers redundant above 70 km/h [45 mph].

Since Kodiaq boot is so huge, I usually have problem with small(er) things moving and rolling around during the drive. I know there are those velcro thingies [“universal fixing elements”] but their use is limited to rectangular-shaped items, so they're not that universal. Netting system is OK, but again limited to lighter items.

Therefore, I decided to create something that will be more practical, universal, durable and aesthetically pleasing [De gustibus non est disputandum]. So, I measured the width of the boot [approx. 100 cm = 39 inches]; however, the owners of the double-sided boot mat should take into account that the width of the flat usable surface is "limited" to 92 cm [36 inches] due to a fairly high raised edge of the rubber side.

Nest, with a measuring tape in my pocket, I went to a nearby "Home Depot" kind of store and started to go thru dozens of plastic boxes and crates which zip tied together would create an "organizer" with total width of 92cm. After analyzing the various options, it turned out that only one perfectly meets the above dimensional requirements - Rotho Country Tower:

Unfortunately, it was a set of drawers with wheels but because of the quality and perfect fit, I decided that Kodiaq deserved a gift for Christmas... The additional advantage was that the boxes matches the color of... cat :) If someone has a beige interior they will fit perfectly! The color is a "cappuccino", best represented on the last two photos below.

After connecting the crates with zip ties, they form nice boot organizer:
