Suzy's Spring Clean

Post by Daddy2Bears » Thu Mar 07, 2019 3:05 pm

Had the bear cleaned inside & out earlier this week and am very impressed with the results. Would recommend SmartDetail ( facebook page ) to anybody in the area.

Also had the alloys deep cleaned and ceramic waxed ready to be swapped with the winter wheels. Will be getting them back later in the spring for a machine polish & ceramic coating, once I've attended to some road rash.

Colin,

It was £50 for a Maintenance Detail, inside & out. And £17 per alloy for the clean & wax. Considering at the local Asda it's £25 just for a hover inside, and was with a brillo pad (not to mention the free stripping of the chrome surrounds) I thought it good value based on the results.

When I took delivery of the car in Dec 17 my plan was to have her ceramic coated, but the swirls already evident from the dealer PDI left me a little downhearted. These guys have given me hope, as they have outlined what can be done to bring her back to better than collection condition, and the price to get there isn't that bad, considering I want to keep the car long term.

Sorely tempting idea, especially the wheels!

Incidentally, I keep noticing an irritating but significant blemish just above your petrol tank cover. Turns out it's a bit of dirt on my computer screen!
