Just test drove an SEL 190 DSG .. great experience.... and the surprises keep coming ..
Voice enhancement ! .. The built in microphones pick up you and passengers chat and relay through the speakers so you can all converse and hear above road noise etc.. never heard or read about this. Abit weird to hear at first but wow .. !!

Do you have to activate the rear sound enhancement with a button or on screen?
Where is it?
My SEL is supposed to have it....................

I haven't discovered that. Do tell. where & how?

When changing the volume tap the icon on the right-hand corner that looks like this

Alternatively tap MENU then Volume > Electronic voice amplification.

Page 133 in the manual says:
Electronic voice amplification for driver and passenger
Applies to Infotainment Columbus, Amundsen, Bolero.
The voice enhancer allows transmission of the driver's and passenger's voice
on the speakers in the rear.
› To set the voice amplification volume, tap the  sensor field and then tap
the function surface  → Volume → Electronic voice amplification .
› or: While setting the volume, tap the function surface  .

Not simply clever.
Something like that you need a one touch button on the steering IMO, seems a lot of faff tbh.
Its not like the Kodiaq isn't quiet enough to have a regular conversation in anyhoo.

I believe it's just a one-time setting.

One of my colleagues just noticed it as he was in the back. Normally this sort of feature is on Range Rovers!

Just noticed this old post ...I honestly thought my hearing was becoming echoey 😄
I thought the same, I've turned it off as personally we found it a wee bit odd.
Don't turn it off, just turn it down to a level where it doesn't sound "odd".
