Here is a round up of the reviews I've found so far today:

Auto Express:
5/5 Stars

Judging by the already excellent Skoda Superb, the Kodiaq was always going to be a strong contender in this class. On the basis of this very early drive in the UK, the heavy expectation has been well and truly met. It's well made, exceptionally comfortable and roomy for seven and offers excellent value for money. Skoda's SUV could be the new class leader.

When the current Audi Q7 launched, people said it looks too estate-y. And the Kodiaq is a scaled-down version of that - lowish roof, few of the aggressive design touches of an SUV.

But it avoids the blob-like stylings of a family MPV, and still manages nearly all of the versatile cabin space. Plus if you get a 4x4 version, the Skoda will let you haul a trailer out of a well-manured field. And that's no BS.

The eagerly-awaited seven-seat Skoda Kodiaq SUV exceeds all expectations.

The Skoda Kodiaq SUV is a big car. It's physically large, at over 15 feet long and six feet wide, while Skoda's reputation for building reliable, practical and affordable vehicles means the brand's first seven-seater is much anticipated and carries big expectations.

Skoda Kodiaq 2.0 TDI 150 4x4 Edition review

Tire Wheel Vehicle Sky Car

The Skoda Kodiaq sets two landmarks for the Czech car maker: this is the manufacturer's first ever proper SUV, and also its first ever seven-seat car.

Perhaps even more importantly, it's also something of an acid test of the strength of the Skoda brand, and could well be a bellwether for the company's long-term strategy to move gradually upmarket. If Skoda proves that it can sell large family SUVs for the kind of money that isn't too far off what's needed for an equivalent BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz or Land Rover, it'll be much easier to move the rakish coupé and small SUV concept cars we've seen in recent years from the drawing board to the production line. The Kodiaq may also finally help prove to buyers that the reputational problems of Skodas all those decades ago are simply no longer a factor.

The Kodiaq is the customary less-is-more Skoda proposition: Volkswagen engineering and quality but at a price three-to-four figures less, coupled with more space, more seats and more standard equipment. It's comfy, capable and compelling - and for its customers, family life on the road is about to get a lot more bearable.
