I hand delivered some paperwork to Blade Skoda, Glos last night. All staff gone home, but noticed they had received about 2O new vehicles, still half wrapped. Had good butchers looking for my Bear. Thought I had found it, til Daughter said, ''No Dad, that is actually dark blue!''....in my defence it was getting pretty dark. I carried on regardless, and found Blk, 7 Seats, DSG, Sirius Alloys and I got very excited. Lydia took some pics of her very happy Dad with the Bear, assuming it was ours. Rang Dealer today and they confirmed it is my motor, indeed.
Does anybody know how long Dealers take to Prep cars prior to handover time.
I certainly dont want to rush them, as having Autoglym Lifetime thingy applied, (at greatly reduced cost compared to price quoted), and I do not want that process overlooked or rushed. Its a shame Autoglym themselves dont offer the old service of coming to your home to apply the necessary. At least that way you could keep an eye on proceedings. At least it comes with Lifetime Guarantee whilst car is in my name. Cheers in advance for any help re my query

Don't wish to p!ss on your bonfire, but the dealer applied coatings often leave a bit to be desired! No idea what Blades are like? They are pretty good at turning round cars though.
I would never have a professional coating done outside - a good professional coating needs to be done and cured in the right climate.
Sunil and I both had cars from Blades about same time. They turned round my car in a day!!!
However I asked them explicitly 'NOT TO TOUCH IT' since I took it to an expert local detailer (Glos Detailing, Cheltenham).
Good to their word Blades left the protective film on it for me. My car arrived last Tuesday 17th and I drove it out next day. Fab service doing PDI quickly for me.

Hi Stevie, many thanks for info. With that advice I may well ring Blade early doors tomorrow and cancel Autoglym Lifetime Shine, unless they already done it. Cheltenham very handy for me, so may well choose them. Do you mind me asking what Glos Detailing charged you?
Kind Regards Qpr Boy lost in Worcestershire

I concur on the detailing comment. They forgot mine and wanted me to bring it back in "for an Hr" to apply it.

I declined and got the refund instead . If it only takes them an Hr, I doubt if it's worth doing

Good move cancelling the Autoglym.
I had it done on a Mercedes. Complete waste of money!

Hi all.
Nigel spent 3 days on mine at Glos Detailing.
Went with protective film on still. He had pleasure of virgin paint. He washed and lightly buffed it. A day and half on inside and out with product.
A day to cure but I left my it for the weekend with him. Was £700 but.. ... " YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR". Product is a ceramic nano-coating 'SiRamik ATP. Fully insured premises and climate controlled indoor facility. Professional, not the half hour with a gritty rag ....
Suggest you give him a call they're on the Web

By the way - I have no idea what Blades do with regards to their protective treatments, they are a great dealer. I just never take up deals for the products offered by dealers.
I need a bit more performance on the treatment so use specialists.
I will now be 'enemy number one' for the Blades sales team..... lol

Many thanks Stevie C, Colin, Glosskodi and Zach for advice. Zach, I have a ludicrous amount of compulsive disorders, and using O for figure nought is one. (It takes me 5 minutes to leave my Octy or wifes Monte as I have a ritual of checks I must make, as otherwise mishap shall hit one of my 5 kids). As you say Glosskodi if it takes Dealer 1 Hr to do Autoglym then forget it! Dont worry Steviec I wont mention you by name at Blade, Glos!!! Ive rang them to sort cancellation of Autoglym Shine, but awaiting call back. As you say, they are a good Main dealer, the Carwow price and trade in they have given me is £2,OOO better than my nearest Dealer at Worc offered! However, the service I received 3 years ago at Blade was even better, with requests for call backs being done much quicker. I shall contact Glos Detailing, as you say You get what you pay for...and 1 Hr with Autoglym is not worth £2OO.Cheers guys .

I'm just back with my K from Gloucester. Driven 120 miles non-stop to London, the cabin is surprisingly quiet other than tyre noise.

QprBoy: Mine landed at Blades along with Stevie's (last Wednesday?). They did their standard detailing and the car was ready by Friday . There are still many Kodiaqs wrapped and waiting for PDI / detailing.

Great pictures Stevie, you may need to show some more pics in day light (please!).

Overall great service from Blade Skoda.

Haha no worries, just having some fun. My dealer is putting Duraseal but before then they're taking the car to another shop to get a PPF applied to the front of the car.

Hi Zach, no offence taken whatsoever mate. The condition is a bleeding nightmare and winds my Family up constantly. Sadly had it since 1976 and I have about 17 rituals in and around house, plus 3 on specific car issues. With my Octy I must double check interior lights are off, double check all windows are fully up and touch letter C at rear of car....when I have walked about 2O yards away, I must return to car and do all checks again! Being a lifelong QPR Fan is bad enough, but these other issues are annoying to say the least.
