How do I post about an issue I have with Skoda? Finally someone has had the decency to reply.
I was under the impression that I would have got this mail Thursday last week but it kind off sums up the customer service level Skoda has bearing in mind I had to go via social media to get anyone's attention. Your staff whom ever the manager was in your Cambridge branch wasn't helpful in anyway. He was ignorant, arrogant and rude.
Events leading to this:
-on 13th Feb on my way home from work I hit a kerb traveling around 30-36mph and the airbags deployed. Both sides overhead airbag and passenger seat airbag deployed.
Damage to exterior = front wheel slight damage and rear tyre has bubble. I was travelling on my own and nobody was in passenger seat. I don't understand why the airbags have deployed as I used to have an BMW X5 and I had hit the kerb numerous times and never have I experienced the airbags to be deployed. I understand the airbags are a safety feature but for the front passenger seat airbag to deploy when no one is seated there is dumb found to me.
-15th Feb I contact Skoda customer service and was told it would be best to speak to my local dealership. She ask for my postcode in which I gave her (CB11 4LT which is elmdon and not far from saffron Walden and Cambridge. She comes back to me and says the closest branch is Colchester!? So I told her my closest would be Cambridge branch. She then comes back to say is Milton Keynes closer?? What when I've already told her my closest branch is Cambridge, what world is she on???
-i ring your Cambridge branch and spoke to a lady named Katie. I told her what had happened and she said that she would have to have the vehicle in to take a look and there are two options I have. 1. they can collect the car and have a look but cannot provide courtesy car at present.
2. Ring Skoda roadside assistance and they will recover the car and supply me with courtesy car.
I was advised that option would be faster. So I hang up and ring roadside assistance only to be told that the vehicle can be recovered but no courtesy vehicle will be provided.
So I ring your Cambridge branch again and asked for Katie, a gentleman answered, he ignored my request and kept asking questions in the meantime refusing to locate Katie. So I hung up and rang again, this time I managed to get through to Katie and she said that it was her mistake and roadside assistance was correct. She then said that I could transfer me to her manager to see what could be done and ask me to hold in which I did and then got cut off. I rang again having been cut off and asked for Katie, I was told she was busy and he would send an email to Katie for her to call me. Well this was swift and she called me back within 5mins. When I answered her call she asked how I had got on with the manager, so I told her that I haven't spoke to him yet and was cut off. She then transferred me to him and this was his response:
"On inspection off the vehicle you would have to bring it in...."
I asked him how he came to that conclusion? His reply
"All I can say is that having inspected the vehicle you would have to bring it in"
So I asked him if none of your people has seen the car how can you make that comment? He just said from inspection of vehicle you would have to bring it in!
Obviously I wasn't getting through to him and said nowonder your company is shit and he just hung up.
NOT THE KIND OF SERVICE YOU EXPECT FROM A BLUE CHIP COMPANY, it's the kinda of service you expect from you local takeaway when they,'ve messed your order up and don't want to resolve it.
- That call irritated me so much I decided enough was enough and decided to take action via social media to which I'm told I would be contacted within 48hours only for that NOT TO HAPPEN and for you to say if I don't get back to you in 3days you will close the case??? When it's taken you almost a week to contact me???
So in light of that tell me would you look to buy a Skoda? Would you recommend it??
I'll have to say NO.
