Oh Dear!
First of all ..... Welcome to the forum.
I would RING the dealer. They can't charge you for that! Ask if they think there might be a chance of a sympathetic claim.
Also ring Skoda customer services.0333 003 7504. Ask to speak to a Customer Services MANAGER. The peeps who answer the 'phone have no authority.
If I was in your position, if all else fails I would super glue the bits together and glue a 'splint' in the groove. rather than pay the figures you quote. Basically because I'm a tight @rse! :lol:
It is of absolutely no compensation for you but I have had pan roofs in 5 out of my 8 Skodas and I have never heard of anything like your unfortunate happening.
