Help needed by an elderly Kodiaq driver who gets confused by all this modern technology. The picture is of my preferred Virtual Cockpit layout, primarily because it predominantly displays speed centrally and large. Bottom left is displayed kW which I assume tells me the power output of the engine in real time; limited actual use but interesting to know. Bottom left is oil temperature, again interested but of limited actual use. However, above that is a picture of the car with two green segments to the left and right of the car. What on earth do the green segments tell me? I've searched everywhere and cannot find any reference to them. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks in anticipation.

You would have thought that the online user manual would cover this but I doesn’t appear too. I think that’s a trend across all car manufacturer, the online manuals appear to omit many things. The online Skoda manuals are very poorly presented, I must be getting old as I prefer the printed version..

I am unsure what they mean as my old Kodiaq didn’t have this on the virtual cockpit but from what I can see online, they indicate the status of the driver assist systems (lane assist and blind spot etc. Green is healthy and amber/red being different levels of impairment.

It’s a fairly bad system, whatever they mean, if the user doesn’t know or can’t easily find out what they refer too.

Hello Foxtrot Alpha. Thank you for your thoughts. What you are saying makes sense, but if the green lines are meant to show the state of "Lane Assist" or "Blind Spot" why are they present on my car which has neither of these functions? The only "Assist" function on my car is "Front Assist", which has on three occasions now slammed on the brakes for no apparent reason! For the time being I will accept the fact that the green lines are purely decorative. If they ever change colour or form I will restart my investigation. Thanks again, Old and Grumpy
