[Thought process]

Have been noticing in the recent cold weather the first start of the morning has been difficult. This morning was frosty and took 8-10 attempts of depressing the break peddle and pressing start. The brake peddle is rock solid, with no movement or play at all. Often takes 3-4 pumps but this morning was the worst yet.

Recently took Yogi in to the dealer to have running boards fitted and mentioned it to the mechanic in passing. He said monitor it and bring it back if persists for investigation........interested if anyone else experienced something similar. If so what was the cause, is there a fix?

Did you try try to "warm up" your TDI enfine before starting?

First you push the Start button without depressing brake and after few seconds push Start button again, this time with brake pedal depressed. You can even try to "warm up" the engine twice before actually starting it.

Also, any chance your battery is low?

Thanks Bert.....car is less than two months old, battery should be okay, unless I have a duff one. Due some cold weather over the weekend, will try your method and see what happens.
