Yes Quart Grey, looks great, had a quick drive to try stuff out

Have just set up Skoda Connect, had to put my own Sim Card into my unit despite believing that I have paid for the service, or else why have a Sim Card, i'd just use my mobile, so in discussion with the dealer on that one.

Found out from the delivery driver that when the garage, that shall stay nameless, first received some of the cars, the mechanics doing the setup, didn't realise what the door protectors were and removed them, oops red faces, mine are ok though.

Same problem with Bluetooth that I had on my Octavia that it doesn't sync all phone numbers, look for an app in the Google Playstore called "Bluetooth Phonebook" by android-rsap which remedies the problem.

Later to try some of the other apps

So a couple of days in and very happy
Tested the following
Skoda connect - very good features, used it to download speed camera locations to the car
Kessy - all good
Stop start - seems to sensitive
Auto brake - not sure/scared how you test this
External sim - playing with this still
Columbus - much improved, now also shows traffic problems on A roads which my octavia didn't

Generally all is good so far, but lots of gadgets to still test
Took the car in to see RCRCRC as he lives close by as well, and he sells lardy cake yum yum

To test emergency stop, either edge slowly towards a stationary object like a wall and it will put the brake on.

If your more cautious, do it against a box 🙂

I tested it on my Audi a couple of times and it stopped me from a couple of silly mistakes in slow traffic when not paying attention

Cool, great news.
One question on Kessy: is it on all doors or front ones only? ...Boot included?

Tks

But be aware, Tailgate locking is delayed.
I don't know the timescale, but if you lock the car for a little while the tailgate remains openable without nearby presence of key.

Thanks for the heads up Savage.
I wonder if there is a technical reason or just a bad implementation.

It is by design, I guess they thought you could lock the car THEN get your stuff from the boot !
Makes sense ok, would be nice if it's possible to switch off.

According to the manual, delay can be adjusted by dealer (or someone with VCDS possibly).
Not sure if it can be disabled or only extended ?

How did you download speed camera locations to the car? I haven't come across such an option (although only had the car less than 24 hours!)

I downloaded the Via Michelin file as below to my PC

ViaMichelin [ UK - Consolidated by type (Gatso,Mobile, etc) | pMobiles: Yes | French: No | Swiss: No ]

Log into the Skoda Connect portal https://skoda-connect.com

Scroll down to the My Points Of Interest Section

Click On Add New POI File
  • Give it a Name
    Choose the file
Add the ICON for the file

Close the POI window
Go to your car
Go Into Settings for Navigation
Click on Manage Memory
Delete Your personal POI's as it needs to overwrite what is there if any exists
Retrieve Online POI's

Once imported go to Map settings in the Nav menu and enable the POI types you have imported

Tks
The sensors are only on the front doors,
the boot will also open from the electric button on the outside if you have the keys on you (without the need to press any buttons on the remote)

Nice work, will get that done thank you ;)
Can you add them as one block, or all have to be added individually ?
