I believe the 2.0TSI engine recommends the standard 95RON fuel. Has anyone tried any of the higher-RON super unleaded fuels, and noticed any significant change in fuel efficiency?

In my test drives I drove the 2.0 TSI with both 95 and 98. Didn't feel any difference or see any big economy difference, maybe half an mpg with 98.

Unless the manufacturer demands 98RON, don't waste your money!
The car is tuned to run on what they say in the handbook.

I was interested to read this, having ordered the 2.0 TSI.

My current car is a 1.6 FSI Octavia estate from 2005, so not exactly the latest technology. It's supposed to run on 95, and it indeed it does, but the engine constantly makes a sort of fluttering/rattling noise when using 95. It always has done. That noise disappears when running on 98, so I tend to buy 98 most of the time to keep the engine quieter. At least fuel is one of the few things that is relatively inexpensive here in Luxembourg, but I'll still be happy to be able to step back down to 95 again with the Kodiaq.
