There was a discussion on this forum about the 4x4 system a while back and some posts suggested maybe their system had never worked due to driving on normal roads. I was of the same opinion until I had an oil change and filter clean at 26,000 miles. See attached photos showing the filter before and after cleaning.
From some of the pictures I've seen, that's not that bad at all. I wonder if the pump is completely dormant when the rear diff is not being actively driven, or if it's always circulating some oil?
