Hoping they're all the same but ever since delivery my 2 litre diesel sounds really rattly once warmed up.I traded a 17 plate Octavia with the same spec and that was fine. It's normal from cold but after a run it sounds like an old Corsa with a worn timing chain! Car still has less than 500 miles on it.Think I need to listen to another one to put my mind at rest.Just wondered if anyone else had noticed the same.

Hi wornspanner,

yes, same with my 2.0L engine DSG, 150HP...I drove 150HP manual and was OK.
Yet to visit the dealer to be checked.....

Let me know if you get any explanation for this.

Regards, Tomi

Hi Tomi. I've called at the dealers today and tried another identical car from their fleet. It was nice and quiet when cold and after a run chattered loudly at idle just like mine.Looks like they all do it . Dealer agreed but said nobody had mentioned it before.I think most owners are too busy playing with their infotainment screens to notice what the engine sounds like!

Let's see what my dealer says about it..I plan to make a visit by end of this month or early May...
I remember manual gear shift had no such wierd noise.
