I have had my kodiaq since last Wednesday

As an experiment i took a local paved road indicated on the sat nav back to my house

Whilst making a right hand turn on a pretty steep incline the change in road surface caused the rear tires to spin and would now allow the car to make the turn with 2 adults in front and 2 infants in the back

I actually had to reverse all the way back to turn round

I suspect after 4 days of owner we have found the limits of the awd.

you mention paved road and change in road surface what did it change to? and how steep was the gradient , and are you driving a manual or automatic?

If auto did you have the car in drive if so try low or 1

I have 4 wheel drive on my pick up and difficult/steep terrain is best dealt with in low 1st with foot off the clutch and accelerator however l know l will have to learn new techniques for the kodiaq
these links are fairly informative

Andrew,
Welcome to the forum.
Could you put location on your profile and and spec of you car on your signature please. It helps others to help you.
I came up a 1 mile long wet, greasy tarmac, 1/4 hill the other day and didn't spin the wheels once.
I presume you meant 'not' in your piece not 'now'.
I've just thought.....are you American by any chance? 'tires' and 'paved' surface are both American terms. Just wondered? ;)
