I admit I did't have a camera on the Kodiaq. Perhaps the Karoq camera has been improved. I find mine excellent day or night. Do you have TWO reversing lights? Are they both working?
Karoq has two.
Two whole LEDs!

Most impressive....not.

Re: Reversing camera video in the dark please

I find the camera good.

The reversing lights of the Kodiaq are however the poorest thing about it. It's time an upgrade was available.

Re: Newbie

The 512GW is easily removable leaving its mount and wiring in please.

For what its worth Halfords stock the full Nextbase range and do installations too.

Good luck with whatever you choose!

Re: Newbie

Hard wired. Its a couple of hours work getting the cables neatly behind the trim etc, but its not difficult - just time consuming. Let me know if you need further advice. A coupe of HOURS??? Both Kodiaq and Karoq took me no more than 30 minutes to complete the whole installation. (see pics above) 1...

Re: Newbie

Thanks Chris, will check that one out. Is this the one you have installed ? Edit - just seen your earlier post. Obviously the one you have installed  Have you hardwired it or just plugged it in to the usb socket ? I spotted that the 512 has the rear camera as well, does that connect to a diff...

Re: Newbie

Pete,

The Nextbase 512GW can be left in a mode where if you as much as knock on the bodywork of the car it will wake up and record. It uses what they refer to as a "super capacitor" to avoid draining the car battery.

Hope this helps!

Re: Newbie

I have a Nextbase 512GW fitted to our Kodiaq, along with the corresponding rear camera which was released relatively recently. We install both ourselves and as suggested in the forum only the shorted bit of wire is visible to the front camera. We also have a 512GW fitted to a Yeti too and are very v...

Re: Random Postings

Sorry I phrased it badly.

What I meant was postings about technical faults for example being posted in "General Skoda Kodiaq Chat" etc.

Random Postings

Is it me or has the control over what is posted where on this forum vanished?

It now seems that all kinds of postings that should be in other sections now get dumped in general?

Re: Kodiaq VRS

My understanding from a Skoda UK staff member is that now the Karoq is out, given sales levels the 5 seater Kodiaq will be withdrawn totally before long....
