Re: Kodiaq GPS incorrect location

So, washed & polished the car last week. Strangely after the polish I lost my radio presets (happens from time to time) but also started getting sat fixes, had them all week!

When (rather than if) it goes again I'll give the roof a rub & see if they return.

Re: Kodiaq GPS incorrect location

Your screen seems to indicate that although there are 16 satellites available you haven't achieved a fix on any of them. If so then that is the source of your problem, and it is your GPS hardware/software at fault. Yep, I know what the issue is, it's getting the dealer to get it fixed. VAG-COM scan...

Re: Kodiaq GPS incorrect location

I've got this as well, intermittently. Even thought the location might be correct I can always tell there's an issue as the elevation doesn't change as I drive (it's hilly in Wales!) & eventually the location goes to some random place. Been in twice to the dealers. 1st time it went to the selling de...

Re: Self seal

More 1st hand experience, if you want it. When swapping to winters last year I found a screw in the tyre. Left it in till I changed them back in April, haven't had any issues throughout the year (about 10k), so the seal did the trick. Probably got another 3 months of rubber left before they need a c...

Re: Breakdown and Roadside assistance

Insurance companies take large sums of money off us all, to handle any accidents and to make as much money from you, their policy holder. So why complicate the issue by using a third party? They won't do it for love and somebody will get charged for their 'services' and you can bet your life howeve...

Re: Rear Discs

Had my 2nd service a few months ago at 17k (fixed service interval) and was told 'Discs are fine, pads have 10% wear all round'. Which I thought was pretty good. I can remember 20 odd years ago my dad's surprise when his pads needing changing at 25k on his new Merc, but that was explained as it was ...

Re: Petrol Blue Kodiaq

When picking the colour for the bear I got sold by the marketing, petrol blue on a beach, and the greys & silvers just said Co. car to me. But if we all thought the same it would be a boring world. Mine is silver and not a company car. A Superb says company car to me, it never occurred to me when b...

Re: Petrol Blue Kodiaq

In typical 'grungy' British weather it goes quite dark, but I think it's worth it for when the sun does shine. There's only one colour to beat it imho and that is the Mazda pearlescent red, similarly in some Renaults. But of course, with Skodas pathetic choice of colours, we can't get anything as e...

Re: Electric hand bake high speed application and handbrake turn!!

Wasn't it a Crash For Cash thing, where the lead car disables their brake lights and then comes to a sudden stop, car behind hits them and they claim all & sundry (car repair, whipash etc)

One of the few reasons I have a dash cam.
