Re: Caravan Towing with a Kodiaq

Just completed our first towing trip from South Yorkshire to Dorset and found our 190 4x4 brilliant. The caravan has an mtplm of 1500kg so it would be round about the 85% guideline which I like to stick to despite 22 years experience. I get the nose weight to 95kg which again is within the 5 to 7 % ...

Re: First and hopefully only supermarket ding

I always reverse into a parking space except at supermarkets where you need access to the boot. I also never park next to a car who has reversed in for the very reason they might scrape bags down the side of your car or even worse try to push the trolley between or leave it at the front while unload...

Re: Best optional extra? Best accessory?

For me, the camera is the best bit of the car! My sales person told me I'd be wasting my money on the reversing camera. It works as intended, but because it does not flip away when not in reverse the lens gets muddied. It sounds like this might have been an exaggeration on his part going on what I ...

Re: New Tyre

Thanks. I can’t find it on Pirelli’s website but I’ve just found mention as you say above on a Scirocco forum and a twitter feed from Hometyre. As it’s a safety issue I may just bite the bullet and go for the new tyre which they will have tomorrow. Not really a safety issue when there's a British S...

Re: New Tyre

I've just had exactly the same issue with a Scorpion Verde. Local fitted said no repair, new tyre needed... NOT TRUE! I found a piece on Pirelli's website saying they could be repaired. Ymthr sealant layer needs to be scraped away revealing the normal carcass underneath and then a standard repair i...

Yes why not? I have a 2.0 DSG with F/F tow bar AND a spare wheel :o :?
Not with 5 seater SEL or Edition for some reason I can’t fathom.

New Tyre

So tyre technology is so great that I now need to spend almost £200 on a new tyre that should be repairable. How is that progress! My Kodiaq has the Pirelli Scorpian Verde which are “seal inside”. So having got a nail through in the inside 3/4 of the width of the tyre I thought should be repairable ...

Re: Hello, some advice needed re Petrol or Diesel

This may help anyone undecided. https://www.whatcar.com/news/what-fuel-comparison-tool/?utm_medium=EMAIL&utm_campaign=&utm_content=WCAR%20ENews%20Bulletin%20-%20Regular%20(24.01.2018)::Readme4&utm_source=20180124 Interesting but it leaves out a key question - “Do you intend to tow a caravan or hors...

Re: Thule roof rack for Kodiaq

Can’t speak for the Skoda ones but I have bought the Thule wingbars. Very easy to put on, the Allen key is built into the end cap and very robust. Didn’t really notice any noise with just the bars although obviously whistles with ladders on. I have not put the bike carriers on yet and I’m sure they ...

Re: Map updating

Updated mine yesterday online through connection via iPhone. While in Navigation go into I think it was settings - version information - update online. I think it only updated the England North and Ireland Maps but took about 5mins on good 4g signal and it said file size was 600mb. It gave me the o...
