Re: Kodiaq Recall

My understanding is that the signal booster was removed but the Qi wireless charging continued as part of the phone-box You may well be right as I don't have a Kodiaq yet... I didn't think you still got the Qi charging system in new Kodiaqs, but I'll be very happy if it IS still provided :) Chris H...

Re: Kodiaq Recall

I'm sure I got a recall, something to do with wireless charging box/signal booster? I can't remember details as from memory it was done when it was in for a service anyway. That was when OFCOM decided VAG weren't allowed to broadcast a signal inside their cars to boost the signal to mobile phones. ...

Re: Petrol - what octane?

We use either our local Tesco (24 miles away) or Shell at a local motorway service station (a mere 12 miles away). We find no real difference between the two Fuels. No real cost difference either as we have a Shell fuel card through our business which brings the price down significantly at predefine...

Re: MY20 versus MY19

I agree. Mind you I rarely find I encounter people going significantly below the speed limit but I'm often tailgated by people who think the limit doesn't apply to them. This is fortunately getting rarer as average speed cameras seem to be everywhere. I can't get excited by the prospect of accelera...

Re: 1.5 TSI Update Please

Let's face it, The Haldex system as used by VAG, Honda etc is not a serious attempt at supplying power to all 4 wheels, whatever you choose to call it. It will probably get you out of a wet field but not much more. REAL 4WD systems (LR, Mitsubishi, Toyota) where you actually HAVE to select 4WD with...

Re: 1.5 TSI Update Please

Correct me if I am wrong but 4x4 is now really a generic term for any vehicle two-axled vehicle drivetrain capable of providing torque to all of its wheels simultaneously. 4wd and AWD are different methods of achieving this. There are IWD systems too. "IWD"? That's a new one on me! You've explained...

Re: SIM card purpose

You sound like a barrel of laughs as a parent, maybe if you exceed 3,000 revs you could get them to school in less than 20 minutes. Oh I don't get anywhere near 3000 RPM on the school run! It's always gridlock, I'm just glad if the traffic keeps moving. If there is one thing that is certain as a pa...

Re: MY20 versus MY19

Fortunately everybody is different. It would be a tedious world if everyone is the same. My previous car had 140bhp and fully laden on autoroutes could not maintain the speed limit on hills - dropping to 3rd gear at times. That makes long journeys far longer and tiring for us than I would like. Per...

Re: 1.5 TSI Update Please

[quoteI don't think it was just permanent 4x4 cars but early versions of AWD cars. I did talk to someone, can't remember if it was Skoda UK or a dealer, and I was told that it is not necessary to change all four tyres. I suspect it is still necessary to change both tyres on the same axle if the rem...
