Re: Rear disc and pads gubbed

Jay cee!! When I first looked at your pic I thought the outer circumference had cracked away , but obviously it is the shield behind. If I remember correctly you live in Scotland, don't you? Near the coast?? It looks to me like salt water corrosion. The rim is unbelievable at such low mileage. If t...

Rear disc and pads gubbed

F014259B-AB6E-4F97-AB27-E61362693EFF.jpeg As I am a mechanical idiot so could somebody please give me some words of wisdom, both my rear discs as they are heavily scored, pitted and the front face seems to be falling off In areas after only 16k miles? The pads (according to the AA man Skoda sent ou...

Re: Front Lower Spoiler

I suggest you name and shame the dealer on this forum. They should not be allowed to get away with this. A written complaint to Skoda U.K. is essential. Somebody at the dealership should loose his job over this! Don’t think Skoda UK would be much interested in a complaint from Moldova :) To be fair...

Re: Front Lower Spoiler

I woulsstick with the type of spoiler that is standard for that model. I would also be asking Skoda directly to answer why one of their dealers allowed this to happen, it should be raised well above dealership level. I have no idea what the laws are in Moldova but in the UK I would be looking at rep...

Re: Plans for Hybrids

Transport and Environment's analysis says a key problem with plug-in hybrids is that so many owners rarely actually charge their cars, meaning they rely on the petrol or diesel engine. Another is that many plug-in hybrid models include design features that automatically turn on the petrol/diesel en...

Re: New member - which engine

I think I’ll plump for the 190 Petrol. Think Skoda are in the midst of changes but if you're looking at Sportline here in the UK, then 150bhp diesel is 4x4 and manual only, 190bhp diesel is 4x4 and auto only, 2.0tsi is 4x4 and auto only. One thing to keep in mind especially with the latter two is t...

Re: Plans for Hybrids

Or the obvious low tax option........ Mitsu Outlander PHEV I know people who had Outlander PHEVs for company cars as the tax breaks were good, every single one hated it. Ignoring the fact it’s fugly the range on electric only was about 30 miles and thereafter they were lucky to get more than 17 mpg...

Re: New member - which engine

If you are paying your own money and don't need to tow. Diesel is a huge NO-NO. DERVS are depreciating like a brick in a vacuum. You will loose shed loads unless you keep it 'til it dies. Modern petrol engines are so much more economical and bearing in mind the price differential between the two fu...

Re: New member - which engine

There is a 1.5tsi which is 150bhp but there was issues with that engine initially but I think that has been resolved.. I have the 150bhp diesel which does what I need and does about 45-50mpg if I behave. I drove the 1.4tsi which was its predecessor but I wasn’t overly impressed, that said I was in t...
