Re: Breakdown and Roadside assistance

I would definitely use Skoda Ensurance if it came to it as I can't really see the benefit of just trusting your insurer (or worse, someone else's insurer if you are not at fault) to sort out any repairs to an acceptable standard, especially if you're not happy with the end result and get into dispu...

Re: Breakdown and Roadside assistance

FA has expressed my thoughts more eloquently than I was able to do. For once we are not in conflict! 😁 I have colleagues who have gone the "let the insurance company handle everything and use the insurance company's repairer" and they have been most dissatisfied. I've been both routes and find it i...

Re: Breakdown and Roadside assistance

But do franchised dealers typically do bodywork repairs? The bodyshop I used to replace the rear bumper of my Kodiaq after a shunt was full of smashed cars but the dealer, not 10 minutes drive away, had not a bent panel in sight. The manager of the bodyshop explained that it is all online, or at le...

Re: Tyre pressures 7 seater Kodiaq

I prefer PSI over bar to be honest, pretty sure most people even nowadays are brought up with PSI even in metric countries. To be fair most filling stations in the UK still use PSI and don’t offer Bar as an option on the automatic compressors, so you have to convert it yourself anyway. It would be ...

Re: Tyre pressures 7 seater Kodiaq

That's because you have the lowly SE ;) But it found my "lowly" SE. I've found on many car web sites that the 1.5 TSI 4x4 DSG does not exist. The site finds my car specification, probably driven from the DVLA database, but doesn’t give the tyre pressures which would suggest the site is cr@p. I am s...

Re: Breakdown and Roadside assistance

Endurance and any other similar. system is a waste of time and will ensure aggravation and possible extra costs to the policy holder even if hidden. Your insurance company has entered into an agreement with the policy holder to handle at and all claims. Why cloude the waters by involving yet anothe...

Re: Breakdown and Roadside assistance

What exactly is Skoda Ensurance? Our Kodiaq is just over a year old and we got an email from them the other day, what exactly do they do that my insurance company doesn't? The Skoda Ensurance site claims: "ŠKODA's free accident and repair cover. Ensurance guarantees that your vehicle will be repair...

Re: Breakdown and Roadside assistance

Don’t forget there was a batch of duff batteries fitted to early Kodiaqs (late 2017) which lose their charge (think they were supplied by Moll). Mine was replaced off my previous Kodiaq. I was vaguely aware of issues like this with the battery of the time. Mine too was replaced, but only after seve...

Re: Breakdown and Roadside assistance

Thanks. Found the link after I posted. AA patrol reached us within about 15 minutes of calling up! Quick tip for myself - Don't leave the dashcam switched on if the car won't be driven every day. Don’t forget to register for the free Skoda Ensurance scheme, you may not need it but it’s worth having...
