Re: Sos fault

I just had ‘SOS Call’ pop up in the maxi dot. Only showed for a second or two. Don’t think a call was actually attempted.

Re: Data SIM 3

One tip the guys at Trans City gave me was when you receive your SIM make sure you activate it in a spare phone as the car can't handle the activation process if the SIM is placed in the glovebox slot I am assuming the "K" takes the full sim card, where as most phone these days take the micro or na...

Re: 17 or wait for 67 plate

I was in the same situation. After having my car delayed & mothballed half built for 5 weeks due to lack of rear seats in the factory, I told my dealer I wouldn't accept delivery during August & would wait for 67 plates on the 1st Sept. My car arrived at dealers on the 9th, received call from dealer...

Re: Data SIM 3

I opted for an EE sim. 2GB per month for 3 months £30.

The Three deal is far better but opted for EE because their 4G coverage is far better.

Re: Spotted

My first spot while driving my Kodi.

Blue, travelling opposite way on A120 Bishop Stortford bypass towards Stansted. Was on Manchester area plates. Think the driver waved to me but there was sun glare on his screen. 👋

Re: Text messaging

I believe so Geoff as you can compose a message via voice activation. Although I’ve not tried it because the sim I’m using in the module is supposed to be data only. A see your point. Yet your data-only SIM manages to SEND a text!? :? Yes... and seeing as its prepaid preloaded (2GB per month for 3 ...

Re: Text messaging

Hi Birksy, Interesting thread for me as I have a Kodiaq on order with the Columbus external SIM option (LTE). You say that your SIM in the Columbus external box is sending your texts. Does the system have the ability to read any incoming texts (via this SIM) on the Columbus screen? Cheers, Geoff I ...

Re: Text messaging

Thanks guys.

Apple are notorious for restricting access to aspects of their products & I can't believe this didn't cross my mind, but of course this is the problem.

I'm actually running iOS 11 on my phone so looks like Apple won't be rectifying this anytime soon.

Text messaging

I'm using an EE preloaded data sim for the Columbus in the glove box. Now despite having this set to 'Data only' the system is using this sim to send text messages rather than my iPhone connected via Bluetooth. Anyone else had similar problems? Calls do still go through the phone. I have been throug...
