Re: Family European Summer Tour 2018

Sounds like another successful trip. Would be curious what your fuel economy was like. Not that we have the same engines - just curious. Thanks Not as good as last year. Tyres need changing, we were charging several devices, aircon was ON and the kids have grown maybe some factors. We got about 55m...

Family European Summer Tour 2018

Following from last year’s European Summer Tour in our Kodiaq, we did another one this year, with a slightly different route and destination. This year, we started in Edinburgh (naturally) and drove down to Ashford for an overnight stay, then took the Eurotunnel to Calais, across to Belgium and then...

Re: Adblue

Second fill of AdBlue for my Kodiaq. The first was an alarming fill in the wilds of Italy where no staffed garage we stopped at sold it in cans and the automated garages had none at the pumps. We finally found one on the coast road north to Padua and Venice, in the HGV section, and by that point we ...

Re: Automatic gearbox fault

I have a DSG7 and the car threw up a warning that reverse was unavailable after a spot of hard acceleration from a standing start. Did the old 'turn it off and turn it on again' and the message was gone and reverse worked fine....

Re: Apple CarPlay: Anyone had luck connecting?

I've left Carplay connected since the Italy trip earlier in the year. There is some mileage in being able to enter the destination in your phone, before you've left the house, and have the car automatically pop that up when you climb in. The traffic awareness is much more granular and up to date tha...

Re: Light Switch - Knee Job

I've hit it a couple of the times. It's a pest but manageable. I'll often check to see if the switch is in the right position. Stupid bloody place to put it though.

Re: Dash Cam

As per another thread on this forum, the wiring for a dashcam does tuck very, very neatly behind the trim along the whole path: either to the fuses or right by the 12V socket. I just plug mine and out of the 12V as necessary which is fractionally pesty, but there are zero trailing wires.

@dalglig: how many front sensors do you have? 4 or 6?
Rear only: 4 as far as I can see.

Re: SOS OCU recall

Hi, Has anyone had their car recalled due to the SOS system/OCU? Our car threw up a fault last Thursday...a computer lady came over the speakers telling us there was an issue with the SOS system and we needed to book it in. It's been with the dealer since Tuesday (all been really efficient seemingl...

Re: Patking sensor lag

I’ve noticed it. It’s made for some excitingly close parking :) I slow _right_ down as I get to the distance I want. Worse: if you’re reversing towards a rock with faces angled at roughly 45 degrees or more to your bumper, it can have difficulty picking up the echo... Off the Antonine Wall a few wee...
