Re: Factory Fit Towbar & Alko Caravan Hitch

The tow ball is about 5cm from the bumper at its closest point. No problems as others have said, so long as the hitch isn't compressed.

Re: Towing Caravan.

I tow a Compass Rallye at 1365kg MIRO and have done around 3k miles now towing and probably 80% of which on UK and Euro motorways with CC set at 60mph when traffic permits. Consistently achieve 26.5-28.5 mpg .. never hit the 30's yet on a run. Very happy with it as a tow car.

Re: auto screen wipers

What annoys me about the wipers is that the nearside blade ends it's sweep, smack bang in the centre of the driver's line of sight. This momentarily leaves the swept water and debris on the screen right where you don't want it. It also, after time, leaves a bit of a diagonal scuff mark on the outer ...

Re: SAT NAV and towing

In the 'Navigation' Settings screen, there is an option right at the bottom to 'Include Trailer'. With this ticked and once a caravan / trailer is connected via the 13 pin socket, my understanding from the manual is that routes and speed limits are calculated and displayed accordingly as a towing ve...

Re: Servicing intervals

It appears my servicing schedule 'on-board' was incorrectly set-up. As I approach my bears 1st birthday next month (with 12.5k on clock) I am informed by 'it' via Skoda Connect Status that it needs an 'Inspection Service' in 35 days or 7500 miles, and an oil service in 400 days or 6300 miles. Tried ...

Re: Spare Wheel

Finally got around to making my own variable boot floor with some spare plywood. Now have the space saver spare nicely stowed with plenty of boot space left.

Re: Lights

There are no sidelights.... So far as I can tell, all that happens when you manually set the switch to “sidelights “ is that the rear lights also come on, and you prevent the car from automatically switching headlights on when it thinks they’re needed. The perpendicular line lights, ( ... the 'lash...

Re: Dash cam hardwire

I have a Nextbase hard wired to rear wiper fuse. Works a treat .. on and off with the ignition. It's a permanent fixture behind the mirror and only ever fallen off once when parked in hot sunshine.

Re: Drive mode selection and where displayed.

You're mixing up two things I think. The Drive Mode (Eco, Normal, Sport, Custom etc) encompasses several settings including the gear box mode (E, D, S) but also air con, steering response etc. The two are not the same thing. The 'bug' is that even though the Drive Mode remains as last selected, the...
