Re: Electric hand bake high speed application and handbrake turn!!

I was wondering about this. For example, could (hypothetically speaking) an inquisitive grandson in the passenger seat apply the parking brake (with very little effort) such that I might lose control of the car? It seems the answer is no. Would the same apply if the road was wet, I wonder?

Just had my first service at 18000 miles and been told i am going to need new rear pads and discs yet the fronts are fine
Can anybody explain this as i always thought front disc would go first
Do the brakes feel excessively hot (care!) immediately after a drive during which you didn't brake much?

Re: ACC behavior when car in front changes lanes

There are plenty of drivers who aren’t careful and vigilant. If more of them used ACC then maybe we wouldn’t see so many collisions on the motorway where drivers manage to drive into the back of each other. I just don't see this happening - the ACC will jam on the breaks faster than a human to prev...

Re: ACC question

Did you touch the brake pedal? That deactivates the ACC

Re: Towing

Hi all Just joined the forum and 99.9% certain I am going to place an order this week. Just curious if anyone has the 2.0 TSI and tows a 1500kg caravan and how the car/engine fares? I've been driving diesels for 20 years now but wanting to change back to petrol. Hoping it is more than adequate (and...

Re: Skoda Kodiaq 2.0 diesel 150 bhp starting problems

Given what owners have said above, how long would you expect a Kodiaq battery to keep its charge when the car is not being used? And in particular, as the weather turns colder? We began to have issues with a 1.9TDi Octavia (2005 vintage) when leaving it for longer then 4 weeks whilst travelling abr...

Re: Short break in service!

For me, not the web site. On December 10th I am going into hospital for a horrendous operation. The revision (i:e: replacement) of my 23 year old hip replacement. Apparently 4 hours on the table and lots of banging and sawing. two bone grafts required and at least 6 weeks on crutches, semi weight b...
