Re: Car standing idle

Check Ctek specs if you're thinking of getting one - some have an AGM programme setting, some don't.

Re: Car standing idle

I would presume all Kodiaqs come with AGM batteries as they all come with a stop/start system as default. Make sure your charger has an 'AGM' setting.

Re: Car standing idle

I'd second the advice to not cover a car sitting outside. You'd be amazed at how much damage any car cover can do to a painted surface through just the tiniest bit of wind movement. I have Ctek chargers on 6 cars here - the classics all live on them. However my Cteks have different operation for AGM...

Re: Thank You to Meadens of Brockenhurst

They are a very good team who go a long way to restoring one's confidence in the motor trade! One of the easiest buying experiences I've ever had. Unfortunately with a 300-mile round trip I'll have to use my local for servicing.

Re: Tyre Pressure Monitoring

Having just got my Kodiaq after a long string of sporting BMWs, I was very surprised to get a 'tyre pressure' warning message, telling me the right front was low. I stopped at the next filling station and set all four, then went into the TPMs which simply asked me if the pressures were now correct a...

Re: Factory tow-bar retrofit

I couldn't get away with that. Some of these cars have staggered tyre sizes, which means two spares: the little BMW M Coupé has 285s on the rear, a spare for which wouldn't fit in the luggage compartment, let alone leave space for luggage. That one has to have a compressor but luckily I've never had...

Re: Factory tow-bar retrofit

My 7 seat SE L has the factory fit towbar, but has a factory spacesaver spare - so I suspect the seats make the difference. I have huge distrust of the foam and compressor kits. The compressors are usually toys and not entirely reliable in my experience. I have heard so many stories from tyre fitter...

Re: Screen clock

Thanks - yes, an extended 'tap' does turn the whole system off, and the clock comes up. But as soon as I activate anything, the clock function disappears and doesn't come back until I go through the menu options again. I think that's as good as I'm going to get! It does annoy me that all these cleve...

Re: Screen clock

Hm. Just went out and tested that, and I can. If I have the satnav on with the radio, I tap the power button, bottom left, and the radio goes off. The satnav still works, and a small speaker with a red line through it shows at the top of the satnav. Maybe they've change it? Or is there another power...
