Re: PLEASE when you sign up to the forum

Welcome Brian. Many of us think the same (I did until I downsized to Karoq . Onlt because SWMBO found it a bit big and we did not really need such a large car. I assume you are at least 77since you have been driving for 60 years. I think you must be the OOF (Oldest Old Fart) The sub-club of the Kodi...

Re: Racechip GTS

According to Racechip the XLR is suitable for ALL cars with 'fly by wire' throttle. All it does is modify the factory ECU to dump loads more (depending on selection) fuel into the system. Bigger bang means better and more instant acceleration. My guess is you have a duff unit. Obviously I stand to b...

Re: Millers Oil

All depends how 'occasional' and what mileage the car has done. the 'premium' fuels are of course designed for constant use (because they want your money-to pay my pension! The 'additive' cleaners are, because they are a 'one off' application, stronger. If it applied to me I think I would prob...

Re: Racechip GTS

JR, Did you read my reply?? My comments apply only to my 1.4 TSi DSG. in 2017, so Racechip may have updated it since then*.I have no experience of XLR on oil burners. Not sure where FUZZZZ is coming from. If you turn the controller fully anti-clockwise the lag will get worse and frankly, makes the c...

Re: Hiya peeps

Welcome Napier, Having had hip problems (with replacement 23 years ago and revision last December) Your SWMBO has my sympathy . Don't worry about moving on from the Superb. Every Skoda I have owned has, at the time, been the best car I have ever owned (76 to date.) Fabia estate, 3 Yetis, Kodiaq and ...

Re: Racechip GTS

When I had the XLR on my Kodiaq. It worked perfectly straight away. all I can suggest is that you remove the XLR, reconnect the factory wiring. take it for a short drive and re-install the XLR. I can't remember the sequence of plugs, so excuse me for stating the obvious, But you did plug the plugs a...

Re: Millers Oil

Old & Grumpy CORRECT! Wearing (my rather old and battered) Shell Retail hat. Modern fuels and lubricants have all the additives you, or rather your car, needs. The oil companies spend an absolute fortune fine tuning their fuels and lubes to give you the best performance and protection possible. Addi...

Re: Petrol - what octane?

VAG TSi engines (can't comment on DERV) tend to loosen up, therefore better consumption, after about 2500-3000 miles.

Re: Petrol - what octane?

Iwarv. Your Wifes friend with the injector problems obviously suffered from the duff load of derv which was contaminated on purpose by some miscreant. At first the road tanker driver was blamed, but it was proved that he had nothing to do with it. It affected many Tesco sites along the south coast ...
