Re: 1.5 TSI OR 2.0 TDI SEL DSG

I got a MY20 1.5 SE L manual a couple weeks back after test driving the 2.0 TDI DSG initially so might be in a good position to comment a little. I think the torque thing will be noticeable but I personally don't think that the 1.5 TSI is under powered despite being worried it might be. It's no spor...

Order your floor mats from Superskoda, real cheap there.
Thanks, that's what I was planning on doing! I think they work out as about £44 delivered, so £12 cheaper than from the dealership.

Re: Hello and a question

If I'd realised that it didn't come with them I think that I'd have tried to arrange something with the dealership but to be honest, when cars a third of it's price are coming with them I didn't think I'd have to... I'll just have to pick up a set.

Re: Hello and a question

Well, it's finally arrived today. Only 6 months after ordering and apparently a couple of spec changes as well. Haha. All good and came as expected apart from one thing - no floor mats! Even my little Ford Fiesta and the previous Skoda Fabia we had came with them... Is it normal that an SE L doesn't...

Re: Tailgate opens by itself!

This was an issues on some models of my last car (Audi S4). It turned out that some models that had the feature where the boot could be opened with your foot, water/rain/moisture was causing an it to open. Some others found that when the boot opening time required on the key fob was changed from 3 t...

Re: OBDeleven

Yeah, I do quite like the newer setups of the VAG DSG's for the exact reasons you've said. They're definitely smooth boxes, if a little laggy at times. The only reason ours on order doesn't have it is because my wife (who will be driving it most of the time) is a cop and as a result of various drivi...

Re: OBDeleven

The answer is in two parts: 1) As someone who has never needed a clutch replacing in a manual gearbox car under 140k miles I'm not going to start unneccessary clutch thrust bearing use now or whatever the component that wears out is called. 2) In a Mazda, you don't need to wear out the clutch to ke...

Re: OBDeleven

My experience of insurance companies, admittedly limited, has definitely not included them connecting the car to a dealer diagnostic computer to check every single configurable setting when assessing things. How would they know the specific settings to compare it against first of all? Insurance is b...
