Re: Hard to decide between Kodiaq and 5008

Let’s face it you will get more of a negative review of the 5008 than the Kodiaq on a Kodiaq forum but for once I think most people here are correct. As it happens, I’m not really a fan of the 5008 interior, more style over substance and feels quite claustrophobic compared to many. I also think the...

Re: Paint work

Ceramic coating does not stop stone chips, does not prevent water spots, does not replace proper care or maintenance, does not prevent scratches (irrespective of the advertising puff) and does not last forever. It might be for some, not for me. Nope, and nor does a decent wax polish... I don't thin...

Re: Paint work

I've got a fairly low opinion of dealer-applied paint sealants, however that said, I did go for the Autoglym Lifeshine on my Kodiaq as it was offered as a deal-sweetener and was just too good an offer to pass up and saved me the bother of doing it myself. I'll see how long it will last, but expectat...

Re: RECOMMENDED EFFORT FREE POLISH

You need to get the paint right before a sealant but after that a soft wash is fine for a good time after Assuming you don't need any paint correction then after a good soft wash, use something like GTechniq Panel Wipe before applying any sealant and it will adhere much better and therefore last be...

Re: 18 months on.......

I'm pretty sure my car is on the fixed service - I've only done 2600 miles since I picked it up on 19th Jan, so nowhere near needing a service yet and hoping it's not too late to switch back to the variable service. Must take it in to Skoda at some point. My Skoda Connect App tells me that an oil se...

Re: insurance? what do you pay?

Sadly it's not always your insurer that is the problem and you get no say as to who the other party involved are insured with - it's just luck of the draw. I had a prang back in August 2017 that wasn't my fault. Thankfully the other party (an elderly lady) admitted liability at the scene and also st...

Re: Columbus System - Putting my Library on SD Cards

Just to chip in my 2p worth on what I know is an old thread reborn, however it might help someone avoid the frustrations I encountered. I've been fully Apple for some time now, so a lot of my music (certainly anything from a CD) is in AAC format on my Mac, all of which is on an old 64GB iPod Touch w...

Re: NORTH SOMERSET SKODA DEALERS

I live in South Somerset and ended up buying my car from Blade Skoda in Weston-super-Mare, and would agree that they were excellent and feel I got a really good deal from them. Justin Paddock was the salesman I was dealing with, but also talked at length with the lead sales person (sorry, can't reme...

Re: Speed limiters to be fitted by law in EU and UK?

I also keep the digital speedo set in the maxidot display as it's accurate to 1mph which is better than the 'normal' analogue speedo, which I hardly look at at all. Most of the other options in the maxidot display are pretty useless anyway tbh - not sure why I'd want to know my average fuel economy ...

Speed limiters to be fitted by law in EU and UK?

Just seen this on the BBC News website: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47715415 I guess it was always coming, but my only thought is that I hope there's a more accurate system for detecting the speed limit available for all cars in the future than the one fitted to my Kodiaq. My car came with t...
