Re: Facelift Sportline ordered

I'm only mildly envious, I rather like race blue.

Re: Skoda Kodiaq bike rack - Menabo Polaris 3?

If you go the tow bar route, I bought a Buzzrack from Roofbox which I'm happy with and they're cheaper than Thule.

Re: Skoda Kodiaq bike rack - Menabo Polaris 3?

Yes, my tow bar rack both tilts and locks and although it locks, I take it off and stow it in the boot because that removes the possibility of some oik thinking he'd like to try and remove it. I saw a video once of 2 youths standing on the roof of a Honda in a car park trying desperately to rip off ...

Re: Skoda Kodiaq bike rack - Menabo Polaris 3?

Whilst you've stated that you don't want a tow bar mounted carrier, as someone who has one, I can recommend them. The beauty of mine is that it's relatively easy to put on and take off and my (heavy) bikes are easy to put on it. On arrival at destination, I take it off, fold it up and put it in the ...

Re: Skoda Kodiaq bike rack - Menabo Polaris 3?

Whilst not that particular model, the subject of a tailgate mounted bike carrier cropped up last week. I advised the OP in that thread to have a look at what Roofbox.co uk recommended, which he duly did and discovered that they state that a tailgate bike carrier should not be fitted to a Kodiaq. A f...

Re: Columbus Sat Nav system

Unless I'm doing something wrong, I can't get my Columbus to accept an Eirecode. It did however accept an address in Dublin and I put in some English post codes just to make sure the unit is working okay - it is. As Ireland is part of Europe, I don't understand why it won't accept the Eirecode. Afte...

When you consider all of the costs of having a car, the differences in fuel consumption are kind of 'lost in the noise' unless you do lots of miles and drive with a diver's boot on your accelerator foot
Absolutely agree with that and it doesn't only apply to fuel consumption either. :D

Re: Buying my first Kodiak Edition ?

Thanks for the replies guys. I use the same modes as you Kenny, so perhaps I need to change my lead boots for daps.
To be honest, as a low mileage driver now, the low mpg isn't of great concern to me unless it's a fault with the car that's causing it.

Re: Buying my first Kodiak Edition ?

Kenny R & stephendutton1963 Out of interest, what mode do you normally drive in e.g. comfort, sport, eco ? I've never seen more than the low 30s in mine and local driving normally gives me around 27mpg. Even on long runs in France it's never shown more than 34mpg, but I do normally have a large cano...

Re: First (very minor!) fault

You're not near Bridgwater are you as I have some thin double sided sticky tape in my garage. I would remove the residue. I first tried meths on my wifes car - not strong enough, so I ended up using turps substitute. However, it's just occurred to me what I should have tried first and that's WD 40. ...
