Re: Pitting on chrome bits after hand/carwash

Well, after the problems I had last year with tree sap marking my chrome trims and getting rid of them, I've just been in a French auto lavage and my trims are absolutely pickled with white staining. Now I used these twice last year at the same time I had the tree sap staining and experienced no pro...

Re: Infotainment screen rebooting!!

So, a year later almost. When the problem first occured I was on a long journey through France so the car was obviously getting quite hot and I did wonder at the time if that had a bearing on events even though the dealer reckons there's a cooling fan in the head unit. I've been unable to replicate ...

Re: SEL supplied without front parking sensors

If after locking your car with the key, you then touch the indent on the door handle within 5 secs, the Kessy system will be disabled.
Much cheaper and less hassle than sourcing new keys.

Re: Incorrect ECU!

Have the faults been fixed ? I stand to be corrected, but once faults are identified the dealer has to be given the opportunity to fix them. If they are not capable of doing that or Skoda UK can't/won't get it rectified for you, I believe you then have grounds for rejection. The path to rejection wi...

Re: Electric hand bake high speed application and handbrake turn!!

So I think that you'd probably already have your foot on the brake, activating the brake lights, and that you probably have more to worry about than a car behind you potentially rear ending you. Lol. Not if your front seat passenger activated it because you're having a heart attack, which is the qu...

Re: Electric hand bake high speed application and handbrake turn!!

We need to remember that Top Gear did this on a traffic free runway, so not a real world scenario. I'd like to see the same thing done with another car following closely behind to see if that car could avoid Chris Harris when he applies the EPB. I seem to remember reading somewhere, that if you use ...

Re: Electric hand bake high speed application and handbrake turn!!

I brought this very scenario up in May and all of the replies (except the one from scratch113 who pointed out this video) reckoned their car would come to a very abrupt stop when the EPB was applied. So, are all VAG cars created equal or will our Skoda react differently to that Golf ? Who is willing...

Re: Rim size and tyre noise

I'm assuming the car is a new one ? I'm surprised nobody has mentioned tyre makes and different treads yet. Whilst I don't imagine Skoda would fit any make of tyre to their new cars that would be particularly noisy, the tyres on your car could be a different make to the ones on the demonstrator, whi...

Re: Petition to remove £40k VED charge

Gosh Old Man, if you did Natinal Service you must be even older than I am.

No, I wasn't old enough either Colin but I was the product of a father who'd not long before fought in WW2, so he dragged me up proper and didn't take any s--t !! ;)
