Re: Brakes not under warranty

Have to say the price for the work seems steep. Can you prove you reported it that early? Brakes are always a tough one because it's fairly easy for poor driving to screw them up. I'm not at all saying that's the case here, but just saying why they have this policy.

Re: 19” Triglav alloys x4 with Skoda caps

Just so you know, It looks very much like I won't be seeing the car this year because of the spec I've ordered, allegedly 33 weeks lead-time so sometime in January. So whatever you do, if someone else wants them don't hold them for me!

Re: Anybody better this?

Of course I could cheat by resetting at the top of the hill. But I cheated by doing 50 miles in a Fabia. Mixed urban, A road and M42 / M40.

Re: Order times in UK

It's going to be an interesting few weeks finding out what is really going on. I ordered a 190DSG Edition a couple of weeks ago, and obviously have no build date yet. The dealer estimated delivery mid August but it makes me wonder why they didn't have this information. 33 weeks makes it sometime Jan...

Re: Factory fit towbar

If you look at the various information about the Audi Q5 version it seems to have a special lowball cover with drain holes that are in the top, but the bottom when folded. I cannot find anywhere to get hold of one of these though!

Re: Oil

According to the manual, if you are on fixed servicing it's 10k miles, if on variable servicing it can be up to 20k miles depending on your driving style. As far as I know the diesel cars (at least) leave the factory set to long life, but the dealers switch them to fixed servicing. This was the case...

Re: Alarm replacement in the service schedule?

In the UK, the insurance companies have a say in what you must have. Thatcham. If the car doesn't have equipment that meets their requirements you won't get insurance. Immobilisers are a must. Alarms weren't but may have become so. Whether it really is any kind of deterrent or not, the insurance wil...
