Re: Boot does not lock

So don't bother to disable it. ( you can do so at night if you wish if you are afraid your fob may get 'GRABBED' by a car thief- although Skoda claim that inbuilt security will not allow 'grabbing' Technically it's not grabbing although many reports call it that. Grabbing is a very old technique. T...

Re: Model Year 19 Changes

Yep very slowly. 1.4 engines still listed, but the note about 18MY cars has gone. My edition with the same options has gone up about £1k.

Re: Winter tyres

I also made sure I told the dealer, via registration number, what car I have (also a 190 4x4 though diesel) and the wheels they told me were right were the 17" 6.5J.

Re: SAT NAV and towing

I don't think any of them give any sort of guarantee there won't be small roads. On my previous car the Eco route was the best choice but it did try to take me some small roads, and succeeded a couple of weeks ago because the co-driver wasn't checking what it was doing. For sure don't choose the sho...

Re: Boot does not lock

Thanks all. I have NOT used middle button on key fob. Boot release is the hand grip you squeeze on the boot. I do have kessy In which case, back to the original suggestion/question from MrNice. Have you tried opening the boot WITHOUT the key fob on your person? If you are carrying the key fob the b...

Re: Boot does not lock

@Dave M - OK - what did you think the OP meant by 'boot release'? That's surely a reference to the middle fob button - not 'squeezing the boot handle'. And as far as I know you can't lock the boot by pressing the middle button. I think that is where you are confusing everyone, or at least many of u...

Re: Winter tyres

I don't think they offer the 17in wheels with any of the 2.0 engines (in UK at least) so might have to be careful not to invalidate insurance/warranty etc. by fitting 17's. Best check but 18's should be OK with them I guess. They are an approved fitment by Skoda, so insurers will accept them. At le...

Re: Boot does not lock

Most models have Kessy so probably just as most have said. @colmar51, who said anything about the middle button on the remote? Read the OP again.

Re: WARNING! Hard wiring of dash cams

But, if you put both loads through the same original fuse you could be blowing the fuse during normal operation. Consider 2 x 5 amp fuses, if both loads take only 3 amps the original fuse should blow, even without a fault. If it doesn't, isn't that more luck than judgment? To stop this you'd need t...

Re: Servicing intervals

Historically, dealers have switched the cars from variable servicing to fixed interval 10k miles on delivery unless you specifically tell them otherwise. Then on servicing I have had three or four times where in spite of doing variable service they have set it as fixed 10k.
