Re: Connect (or not!)
Skoda connect seems pretty good to me. I haven't had any issues with the app and the ability to send addresses to the car via the app ready for the next days journey is very effective. Is it worth £65 pa? If it means that the service is properly supported and developed then yes. It was free for 3 ye...

Re: Columbus streaming to tablets? Explanation needed.
I have a Verbatim Mediashare device that allows you to create a WiFi hotspot and stream media files through to tablets. Cost me £25 on Amazon and has a built in battery and allows up to 5 devices to stream different films at the same time. Also has the advantage that you can take it out of the car a...

Re: Is Diesel a bad idea (based in UK)
There is a risk that diesels will be penalised at some point in the future. And, as a previous diesel driver, my 1.4 DSG Kodiaq is great to drive and more refined than the diesel model.
I would buy a diesel only if I did significant annual mileage (12k plus) or you needed to tow regularly.

Re: Going down hill
I will check. It feels like it is coasting (i.e. speeds up slightly if the gradient is steep enough). I'm used to the function from the Tiguan and I think its useful so I want to have it on all the time. Could be wishful thinking though...

Re: Going down hill
Mine coasts in Normal and Economy. But in my Tiguan, I can turn coasting off and on within the menu. I haven't found that in the Kodiaq menus yet (but I haven't looked that hard). Also, the display screen in the instrument cluster will sometimes say coasting or other times have the little ECO logo s...

Re: Going down hill
It seems to be the same as the set up in our 5 year old DSG Tiguan. If you have coasting switched on then there is no engine braking when you lift of the accelerator until you apply the brakes. Then, if you apply the brakes, even lightly for a short time, the engine braking is activated. To deactiva...

Re: Question about roof bars
I recently bought some Atera bars and a t track conversion kit so I could use my old (but very good) Autoform roofbox. The bars come complete and are extremely well made and easy to fit. The t track conversion kit was expensive (for what it was) but makes putting the box on and taking it off a breez...

Re: Remember your phone message
I wonder if it is part of the new 9.2 inch infotainment system. I always plug my phone in and tend to use it on Carplay rather than Bluetooth. Will see what happens if I don't.

Remember your phone message
For some reason, the message that pops up on my screen when I switch of the ignition reminds me to remember my phone. However, it also insists in calling me by my first name and first initial of my surname (which, irrationally, I find annoying). Is this message text something that we can amend? And ...

Re: Car and phone integration
I'm not sure about Android but with Carplay. it disengages the phone over Bluetooth. I don't think it is able to do both.
