Re: Which oil

I have a 2018 1.4TSI, (manual gearbox), and the on line Owner's Manual says, (page 283), that VW 508.00 should be used for variable service intervals, (VW 504.00 is an option but may result in a slight deterioration in the emissions values). Thanks all, advice much appreciated. Old and Grumpy - i f...

Which oil

Hi all I want to top up my oil but unsure whether to use vw 504 5w-30 longlife or the newer vw 508 0w-20 longlife, the latter being specified only for specific engines and not backwards compatible so it says on vw site. I am leaning towards the former. I have a 1.4 dsg petrol 2018. Checked with a fe...

Re: Whats you your favourite tip/ feature?

Other than that, I'm looking for a decent storage solution for spare change - I usually keep a decent amount of coins in my car for car parks etc. but there's nowhere in the Skoda that's an obvious easy storage to just chuck a good amount of loose change, there only seems to be a slot in the remova...

Re: DSG clutch wear if left in gear ?

I had a Hyundai Santa Fe auto for 11 years and always left it in drive at traffic lights etc. Never had an issue. I appreciate it is a different car but to put into park every time stopped would defeat the purpose of an auto for me. I even find the auto hold a pain as it means you have to press the ...

Re: Kodiaq Mk. II

What about your dog that you leave in the car during the summer with a fan running ? Assume you mean when you’re not in the car otherwise you’d have the ignition on ?

Re: Kodiaq Mk. II

Excellent thread ! Totally agree with: Drive mode should be retained after ignition on/off 12 volt sockets ignition switched - the permanent live is my biggest gripe with the car so far, bloody pain for the dashcam Rotary volume control on steering wheel should still be active after ignition off Loa...

Re: Skoda Connect (or should it be "Skoda Disconnect"?)

I agree. Initially I thought connect was too expensive to pay for after free year. Now I think it is too unreliable regardless of price. My remote access to driving data stopped for 1 month and I wasted so much time with Skoda uk. After waiting 3 weeks for an appointment with dealer it suddenly star...

Re: Usb socket

Thanks
Used to use the 12v lighter socket but problem is that it doesn’t switch off after turning engine off. So I had to remember to turn dashcam off or unplug.

Does anyone know how easy it is to change 12v sockets so that power is only available when ignition is on ?
