Re: Anyone else have a broken Emergency Call System?

My 18 plate Edition had the SOS (Emergency Call System) fault. The fault was the subject of a recall (Skoda call them something different 'Campaign' maybe) for early 2017 builds. In my case the problem was identical and easily traced to a multi-pin connector where one or more pins were misaligned an...

Re: negative incentive

Victims of their own success perhaps? Drivers of a private hire company close to me have turned away from Skoda entirely due to their rising prices and are choosing the Dacia Logan MCP instead. Glad I don't have to drive for the company - IMHO the Dacia is very much a budget Renault. Wouldn't touch ...

Re: Boot does not lock

@Dave M - OK - what did you think the OP meant by 'boot release'? That's surely a reference to the middle fob button - not 'squeezing the boot handle'. And as far as I know you can't lock the boot by pressing the middle button.

Re: Pitting on chrome bits after hand/carwash

Largely as a result of the recommendation by the previous poster mentioned above, I purchased a tube of Autosol and eagerly applied it to my chrome effect window trims. Didn't do a bloody thing! I don't give up that easily and in the far reaches of my tool cupboard I found a small tin of Brasso and ...

Re: Painting Calipers

For the jacking points have a look at page 294 in the owners manual. This section of the manual refers only to the factory supplied jack not to a trolley jack but I'd be surprised if trolley jacks were to be placed elsewhere. Or, act the daft laddie and ask a mechanic at your local Skoda repair/main...

Can't help you with the DAB presets but my 18 plate Edition had the SOS fault. The fault was the subject of a recall (Skoda call them something different 'Campaign' maybe) for early 2017 builds.
